Shadow Work Prompts
Fear of Rejection
Why does rejection feel so personal?
Rejection rarely hurts only because someone said no. It hurts because it often touches a much older fear, the fear of not being enough, not being chosen, or not being worthy of love and belonging.
If you've ever avoided speaking up, held yourself back from opportunities, or hidden parts of yourself because you were afraid of being rejected, you're not alone.
These prompts are here to help you understand where that fear began, how it may be shaping your life today, and how you can slowly stop letting it make your decisions.
A Gentle Reminder
Rejection is a part of being human, not a measure of your worth. Every person, no matter how confident or successful they appear, has experienced being misunderstood, overlooked, or turned away. While rejection can be painful, it doesn't get to decide your value. The right people, opportunities, and places won't require you to become someone else just to be accepted.
One Small Step
This week, do one small thing you've been avoiding because you're afraid of hearing "no." It could be sharing an idea, starting a conversation, applying for an opportunity, or expressing how you feel. The goal isn't to guarantee acceptance. The goal is to remind yourself that you can survive rejection—and that your worth remains the same, regardless of the outcome.
