Shadow Work Prompts

Trust

Why is it so hard to trust when you can't see what's ahead?

Trust doesn't usually disappear overnight. Sometimes it's slowly replaced by disappointment, unanswered prayers, painful experiences, or the feeling that life isn't unfolding the way we hoped it would.

If you've ever questioned God's timing, struggled to surrender, or found yourself holding on tightly because letting go felt too risky, these prompts are here to help you explore your relationship with trust, honestly and without judgment.

What Did You Notice?

Take a moment to read through your answers.

Sometimes healing begins not when all our questions are answered, but when we become honest enough to ask them.

One Last Thought

If today's prompts brought up doubt, frustration, grief, or disappointment, don't rush to push those feelings away.

A sincere relationship with God isn't built on pretending you never struggle. It's built on bringing your whole heart to Him, the parts that believe, the parts that question, and the parts that are still waiting.

Trust doesn't always begin with certainty. Sometimes it begins with the quiet willingness to keep the conversation open, even when you don't yet understand the answer.

You don't have to force yourself to have perfect faith today. You can simply take the next honest step.

One Small Step

Choose one burden you've been carrying alone.

Write it down in your journal, then write a short prayer beneath it. It doesn't need to be polished or use special words. Simply tell God what you're feeling, your fears, your hopes, your questions, or even your uncertainty.

When you're finished, ask yourself:

"What would change if I believed I didn't have to carry this alone?"

You don't have to solve everything today. Sometimes the first act of trust is simply choosing not to carry every burden by yourself.

You don't have to answer every prompt today. Come back whenever you're ready, this space will be here.
